AALTO

Aalto was founded in 1999 when Mariano García, which was for 30 years the technical director and winemaker at Vega Sicilia -and Javier Zaccagnini-  six years Director of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Ribera del Duero decided to join their skills and experience to start a winery singular court. They set a specific goal: to produce a wine that be placed among the best in the world within 15 to 20 years and from the outset would show a distinct personality. The project is based on three pillars:

- The magnificent variety Tinto Fino, capable of a quality comparable to the best red grape varieties in the world;

- The unique soil and climate diversity of the Ribera del Duero;

- The vast experience of Mariano García. The project has progressed since that year and the winery now controls 70 hectares of old vines with old clones of Tinto Fino, very poor performance and exceptional quality, located in seven different municipalities of the Designation of Origin. We designed our new winery exclusively Quintanilla de Arriba following criteria to optimize the preparation process (cold storage to cool the grape, gravity load deposits, elaboration en tanks of concrete, wood and steel- conical own design- room malolactic fermentation in barrels, two underground warehouses for aging wines ...
